🎯 GOAL
The goal of the Robot Athletes is to perform 5 of the 6 sports included in the track (Pentathlon).
There is a time limit, 4 minutes in each round. Each team will compete in 3 rounds.
👥 TEAM – COACH
-
Participation in the competition is team-based, not individual.
-
Each team may consist of two (2) to three (3) members.
-
Each team must designate up to one (1) Robot Athlete Technician. Only the Robot Athlete Technician is allowed in the waiting area or competition area. The rest of the team must remain in the competition venue but cannot wait in line. ➤ In other words, they cannot occupy an additional spot. If a team fails to comply with this rule, it will be disqualified.
-
The team is allowed to change the designated Technician before each attempt on the track, to give all members the opportunity to be actively involved in the sport, although this is not mandatory.
-
All team members must be at least 10 years old (equivalent to 4th grade of primary school or above).
-
The team’s coach must be at least 20 years old.
-
To ensure smooth participation in the competition, the coach must have 1 assistant for every 3 teams they register in the competition.
-
Each team is allowed to have only one robot. Changing the robot during the competition is not allowed.
-
Teams are not allowed to share the same robot.
-
If a team encounters a serious technical issue with their robot, they are allowed to replace only the microcontroller or the electronic components, after obtaining permission from the Head Judges.

-
During the initial inspection, the team will be asked questions about the critical parts of the robot's program.
➤ The team must have their laptop with the robot’s program open.
➤ If it becomes clear from the answers that the team does not understand the program, they will receive a penalty equal to -20% of the score they achieve in the event. -
The technical inspection includes a robot examination based on the specifications described above.

🏐 VOLLEYBALL
In the center of the field there is two volley nets with a height of 12 cm length 19.5 cm. Behind each net there is one target box: a red box worth 400 points and a blue box worth 200 points. The Robot Athlete starts with the ball loaded on the robot and must throw it from behind the black shooting line, making the ball pass over the net (team can choose which net) and land inside one of the target boxes. If the ball lands outside the boxes, does not pass above the net, or if the robot crosses the black line, no points are awarded.
MAX POINTS:

🥏 DISCUS THROW
In the sport's area, there is a white square with a blue border. The Robot Athlete must remain within the square in order to throw the discus.
The discus must be pre-positioned on the Robot Athlete’s extension. Each team uses its own discus.
The points awarded to the Robot Athlete are determined by the zone where the tip of the discus touches. In the case of the 100-point zone, if the discus is outside the zone, the Robot Athlete will not receive any points.

In the Croquet field, there are five gates (wickets) placed in a straight line, each with its own score written next to it. The Robot Athlete starts inside the START box, with the ball placed in the red circle, and must strike the ball from behind the black line. For each gate the ball successfully passes through, the Robot Athlete earns the points indicated beside that gate. If the ball finally reaches the FINISH zone, an additional 100 bonus points are awarded. If the ball fails to pass through a gate, no points are awarded for that gate.
MAX POINTS:

In the Climbing field, there is a ramp placed in the center of the arena. At the beginning of the attempt, a cube with dimensions of 5 cm is positioned inside the red square at the base of the ramp. The Robot Athlete starts behind the black line and must push or carry the cube upwards until it reaches the top of the ramp. The attempt is considered valid only if the cube is fully placed behind the embossed line at the top of the ramp. No points are awarded if the cube does not reach the valid scoring position.

🏆 COMPETITION
GENERAL INFORMATION - RULES
🔁 ROUNDS - ATTEMPTS
-
Each competition round has a duration of four (4) minutes.
-
During a round, time runs continuously, without stopping the clock at all.
-
Each team will compete in 3 rounds.
-
Before each round the Robot Athlete will go through a secondary technical check by the referee.
📋 Declaration:
-
Before each round the Robot Athlete Technicians must declare the 5 Sports that the Robot Athlete will perform.
-
A team is not allowed to perform more than 5 sports in one round.
-
The team is allowed to change sports in each of the 3 rounds and each time must declare to the referee the sports they will perform before the attempt.
🤖 Valid Attempt:
A valid attempt means that the robot is placed on the field, uses the official arena objects if required, and executes at least one visible and intentional action clearly aimed at completing the task of each declared sport (e.g., pushing, throwing, climbing, or passing through the required course). Simply placing the robot on the field without demonstrating an actual effort to perform the declared sport does not count as an attempt.
(Example: the robot must clearly show design features or mechanisms indicating the intention to perform the sports declared by the team).
🚫 No Intention to Compete:
If, during the match, the referee determines that the team has no intention of competing in the declared sports and is only aiming to complete the Race and Obstacle Race, then the team will receive zero points in total and will not be ranked in the Pentathlon results.
⚖️ Referee Authority:
The referee’s decision regarding the validity of an attempt and the team’s intention is final and indisputable.
📋 GENERAL RULES
-
The track has 2 bases, BASE 1 & BASE 2, that the Robot Athlete can be placed on to start.
-
The team can choose any base they wish to start. The other base is automatically considered as attachments change base.
-
The Robot Athlete can only change attachments once and only if it is in the attachments change base.
-
At the end of the execution of the 5 sports or at the end of the 4 minute time the Robot Athlete does not need to be inside a base.
-
The transition of the Robot Athlete from one base to another can only be done autonomously, that is, the Robot Athlete goes to it alone.
-
If even one wheel of the Robot Athlete is inside the attachment change base only then the Technician that is responsible for, can grab the robot to change attachments. If a Technician catches the Robot Athlete earlier than he has partially entered the base then the referee gives a -100 point penalty.
-
In the event that during the movement of the Robot Athlete on the arena, any of the objects needed to perform a Sport, e.g. discus ball, etc., fall from it, the Technicians are prohibited from picking it up and putting it back to the Robot Athlete throughout the round, even after restarting due to being stuck. The referee will remove the object from the arena in order to ensure the smooth running of the Robot Athlete.
-
There is no restriction on the movement of the Robot Athlete within the arena.
-
The thickness of the black line (for line follow) is 2 cm.
-
The objects needed to perform the Sports are provided by the organization and the teams do not need to keep their own (balls, discus, etc.).
-
There will be time for testing on the track before the competition.
🏁 ROUND PROCEDURE

-
Accordingly, if the Robot Athlete gets stuck inside the track for any reason and the Technicians need to catch him, then the referee will give a penalty - 50 points.
-
In both case 9 and case 10, the Robot Athlete can be restarted from any base chosen by the Technicians.
❌ END OF AN ATTEMPT

When the Robot Athlete has completed the Sports it is competing in.
-
When the 4 minute time is up.
-
If the Robot Athlete for any reason is unable to complete the Sports and its Technicians ask the referee to end the round.
SCORE
The score for a round is the sum of the points of the sports performed by the Robot Athlete in the round and after any penalties have been deducted.
